Guided answer
Who should be the applicant and who should be named as inventor?
The applicant and the inventor are not always the same person. Pick the closest situation and see what you need.
Apply in your own name as the true and first inventor.
Lower complexity
- Section 6(1)(a) allows any person claiming to be the true and first inventor to apply.
- You are named as inventor in the application (section 7(3)).
- A natural person who is a woman, or joint natural-person applicants of whom at least one is a woman, can ask for expedited examination (rule 24C).
- Keep dated records of conception and development; they decide disputes.
