How do I answer a Section 3 objection?
Each clause needs different evidence. Using the wrong one wastes the reply.
You need functional interaction.
Section 3(f) excludes a mere arrangement, rearrangement or duplication of known devices, each functioning independently of one another in a known way.
- Show that the components co-operate to produce an effect none of them produces alone.
- Identify the technical problem the arrangement solves, and the measurable effect.
- If each part genuinely works in its known way and the whole is just the sum, the objection is probably right.
