Expedited examination comes with a publication request.
Moderate complexity - several routes or missing facts
- Unless publication has already taken place or been requested under rule 24A, the request for expedited examination must be accompanied by a request for publication under rule 24A (rule 24C).
- Early publication ends confidentiality sooner. Decide whether that is acceptable for your strategy, for example if you are still deciding whether to keep the invention secret.
- If your request does not comply, it is processed as a normal request under rule 24B and treated as filed on its original date (rule 24C).
